William Young Jr., 82, of Bridgeton formerly of New York passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 in St. James.

Mr. Young, son of William Young Sr. and wife Eleanor (Callanan) was born July 31, 1934 in Manhattan, New York.

Private Young served the United States Air Force from November 2, 1953 to September 4, 1957. He served in the Strategic Air Command during the Korean War.  He was stationed at Scott Air Force Base and earned the National Defense Service Medal. After discharge from the military he worked in machinery sales and retired as the Vice President Sales Manager from State Electric Company. Mr. Young moved to the St. James Missouri Veterans Home on May 2, 2016. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, fellow veterans and staff at St. James Missouri Veterans Home.

Beloved husband of his first wife, the late Veronica "Bonnie" (Hughes) Young and his second wife, the late Faye (Cherry) Young, loving father and grandfather and dear friend to many.
