William Holmes, 88, of Beaufort passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Holmes, son of Ed Holmes and wife Ethyl (Totten) was born September 18, 1931 in Midland, Kentucky.

William was united in marriage to Anna (Jenkins) in Shawnee, Illinois and later married Joanna (Garrett) in Central City, Kentucky.

William worked at Chrysler until his retirement and was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 136. He was also a member of Union Baptist Temple.

William was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ethyl Totten; his first wife, Anna Holmes and his second wife, Joanna Holmes.

He is survived by three children, Dinah Kay Strader of Beaufort, Debra L. Wheeler and husband Dennis of Beaufort and Gary S. Holmes of Beaufort; one step-son, Chris Garret of Sullivan; one sister-in-law, June Payne of Central City, KY; ten grandchildren, Ronald Meyer, Brian Meyer, Brad Meyer, Sherri Sowards, Jennifer Poppe, Danielle Everhart, Daniel Holmes, David Holmes, Kristi Bromley and Angela Holmes; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial donations to Union Baptist Temple are preferred.
