William "Bill" Francis, of St.Clair, MO passed away at his home on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the age of 84 years. He was born in Ironton, MO to John E. Francis and Alberta (Kitchen) Francis on September 9, 1940.

Bill received his education in Ironton.  Upon his high school graduation, he enlisted in the Army and proudly served from 1961 until 1985.  After retiring from the Army, Bill worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections for nineteen years.  While working there he met and married Mary (Dixon) Pittman on August 1, 1988.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in the yard and flower gardening with Mary. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alberta Francis; one sister, Aletha Jaycox; one brother, Robert Francis.

He is survived by step-children, Dee Morris of Illinois, Barbara Underwood of Rolla and Randy Pittman of Illinois.

His wishes are that he be cremated and have his ashes buried with Mary.  He requested no services be held.
