William "Bill" E. Wells, 81, of Villa Ridge passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 in Washington.

Mr. Wells, son of the late Leroy Wells and wife Hester nee Jackson was born March 15, 1935 in Herrin, Illinois.

Bill proudly served his country as a Medic in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960 receiving an honorable discharge for his services.

On September 4, 1960 he was united in marriage to Patsy Satterfield in Herrin, Illinois.

Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Hester Wells; four brothers, Chuck Wells, Arthur Wells, Cecil Wells and Bob Wells and two sisters, Helen Webb and Loraine Wells.

He is survived by his wife Patsy Wells of Villa Ridge; two sons, David Wells and wife Catherine of St. Clair and Rodney Wells and wife Chrissy of Washington; one brother, Raymond Wells and wife Loretta of Herrin, IL; one sister, Betty Hampton of Caseyville, IL; five grandchildren, Kailey, Nathan, Bobbie, Austin and Nicke; five great-grandchildren, Drake, Dylan, Hunter, Loriana and Kyle; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
