William C. Boyer, 73 of Sullivan passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at his home. Mr. Boyer, son of the late Clarence Boyer and wife Bertha nee Hansen was born December 16, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Boyer served his country in the United States Army as a Cook during the Vietnam Era and received an honorable discharge on October 11, 1968. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union Local 396 and was involved with the construction of varies St. Louis landmark projects. In his spare time he enjoyed playing pool and visiting flea markets. He was always there to give a helping hand to anyone needing it. He build many bicycles and gave them to children in need. He loved gardening and taking care of his yard and especially had a special place in his heart for animals. Mr. Boyer was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Chloe Fields and nephew, Michael Anderson. He is survived by his wife Linda Gardner of Sullivan; his daughter, Becky Fields and husband Jeff of Columbia, IL; one step-son, Sean Irwin Sr. and wife Legena of Owensville; one sister, Betty Callahan and husband Larry of Fenton; four grandchildren, Kenny Fields, Kelsey Irwin, Taylor Irwin and Sean Irwin Jr.; great granddaughter, Aubrey; ex-wife, Joan Boyer; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
