William "Will" Ashworth, 50, of St. Clair, passed away, unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at his home.

On March 17, 1972, William was born to the union of William Alger Ashworth and Brenda Sue Bay.

William attended St. Clair High School.

On December 8, 1990, William was united in marriage to Patricia (O'Connor) in Moselle, Missouri.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Local 513 operating engineers for 28 years.

William enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Most of all William loved his family and being the teacher and protector for the children in his family. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Alger Ashworth; step-father, John Bay; brother, Jeremy Bay; nephew, Michael Holden Jr; niece, Ashley Marie Holden; mother-in-law, Carolyn Robison.

William is survived by his wife of 31 years, Patricia Ashworth of St. Clair; his mother, Brenda Bay of Lonedell; three sisters, Lisa Holden and husband Michael of Lonedell, Michelle Jarvis of Potosi & Deana Sandoval of St. Peter's; brother-in-law, Patrick O'Connor; three sisters-in-law, Cheryl Barkhurst and husband Nate of St. Clair, Amanda McNew and husband Shawn of St. Clair & Bobbi Palmer and husband Bobby of St. Clair; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
