Obituary

Wanda Daphene Davis, of Union, passed away at her home on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the age of 85.  She was born in Bunker, the daughter of Edd and Ora (Smith) Hodges, on December 27, 1940.

She was united in marriage to Burl F. Davis, in East St. Louis, by the Justice of the Peace, on August 15, 1958.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Wanda enjoyed playing bingo, visiting the area casinos and shopping.  She was known for her bowling skills, traveling to more than thirty states with Burl, to play in tournaments. Most of all she was a mother and grandmother, known by her family for her baking and her delicious banana cream pies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edd and Ora Hodges; two sons, Burl W. Davis and Timothy W. Davis; brothers, Doyle, Vernon, Lloyd; sisters, Marie, Genevieve, Bernice and Mildred.

Wanda is survived by her husband of nearly sixty-eight years, Burl F. Davis of Union, son, Glenn Davis and wife Rossie of Washington; grandchildren, Logan, Maycee, Madalind, Katie, Isabella, Matthew and Josh; great-grandchildren, Kaysen, Shelby, Baelyn, Karla, Admariah, Alohna and Antonio, other relatives and many friends.
