Walter J. Sachs "Wallygator", 75, of Union passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 in Washington.

Mr. Sachs, son of the late John Sachs and wife Emma nee Mann was born April 6, 1942 in Union.

On April 12, 1969, he was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Thiem at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Union.

He was of the Christian Faith and longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Union.

He worked at the Children's Factory in Union for many years until his retirement in 2005.

Walter was an avid woodworker, he enjoyed working in his home shop making shelves, stools, birdhouse's and anything out of wood.

Mr. Sachs was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emma Sachs; his wife, Patricia Ann Sachs and one sister, Viola Sachs.

He is survived by three children, Stella Swartz and husband Thomas of Union, James Sachs and girlfriend Cassie Dingledine and Janet Lauth of Union; his son-in-law, Mike Gebert of Union; two brothers, Oscar "Butch" Sachs and wife Nancy of Union and Omar Sachs of Beaufort; one sister, Verna Ungerman and husband Harvey "Butch" of MT. Pheasant, IA; eight grandchildren, Elijah Sachs, Courtney Sachs, Justin Gebert, Marshall Gebert, Samantha Dick and husband Brian, Jospeh Swartz, Jeremicha Gurney and  Braeden Gurney ; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
