Obituary

Walter Larry Knight, 81, of Robertsville, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 20, 2022.

Larry, as he was known by family and friends, was born to the union of Walter Earl Knight and wife, Jeanette Irene (Thompson), in Ironton, Missouri on December 1, 1940.

He was united in marriage to LuRae Schropp. Prior to his retirement, he was a commercial painter and proud Union member.  He was of the Baptist faith.

Larry was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.  He enjoyed grooming his lawn, gardening and raising animals from turkeys, goats, chickens and a macaw. In his spare time he relaxed by fishing, boating on the Meramec River and target shooting on his property.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Jeanette Knight; three brothers, Bob Knight, Don Knight and Jim Knight; four sisters, Sally Ellis, Lelia Nickelson, Betty Smelser and baby girl Knight.

Larry is survived by his wife, LuRae Knight of Robertsville; one son, Jeff Knight of Lonedell; five daughters, Teresa Knight-Pearson and husband Kevin of House Springs, Jeanette Brenningmeyer and husband Bobby of Illinois, Paula Williams and husband Kenny of St. Clair, Amanda Knight of Washington, Hannah Schropp of Washington; two brothers, Phil Knight and wife Joyce of Texas, Herbert Knight and wife Barbara of Union; one sister, Judy LaRose and husband Jim of St. Louis; eleven grandchildren, Carrie Knight of Illinois, Cody Collins and wife Rachel of Pacific, Felicia Knight of Springfield, Brenden Williams of St James, Jeffery Knight of Catawissa, Brent Knight of Sullivan, Linda Camarillo and husband Francisco of Indiana, Amanda Brenningmeyer of Illinois and BrittanyHall of Illinois; nineteen great grandchildren, Kade Collins, Audrey Suntrup, Aiden Suntrup,  Allie Suntrup, Gavin McKendree, Keelan Edwards, Octavia Knight, Zyra Camarillo, Zarin Camarillo, Peyton Lang, Joyce Noble, Harmony Noble, Robbie Brenningmeyer, Kaydence Hall, Layla Hall, Chloe Goin, Conner Goin, Claire Goin, and Carter Goin;  many nieces; nephews and friends.

Along with his sidekick - Murphy his beloved dog.
