Vivian R. Leslie (Bowen), 96, of St. Clair, previously of Kirkwood, passed away, Monday, July 31, 2023 in the comforting presence of her great-granddaughter, Ashley.

On July 25, 1927, Vivian was born to the union of Leo Bowen and Margaret (Davis) in Terre Haute, Indiana.

She was united in marriage to Asa "Tiny" Leslie, on October 6, 1944, in Topeka, Kansas.

Vivian devoted a lot of her time to volunteering at the Kirkwood House for nearly 20 years. When she wasn't busy with her volunteer work, Vivian could always be found with a new book in her hand any chance she could. She was a big bookworm. Relaxing with a good book and sitting in the sun made the best day for Vivian. She loved being a mother and taking care of those who needed her help. Most of all she loved spending quality time with family and friends. Vivian will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Margaret Bowen; her husband, "Tiny" Leslie; two daughters, Diane Wagner and Linda Madden; one sister, Joann Aultowski; one grandchild, Jason Wagner.

Vivian is survived by her four grandchildren; Tracy Wagner and husband Bryan of Steelville, Mike Wagner and wife Jill of Sullivan, Jennifer Christopher and husband Alan of Florida and Lisa Madden and husband Joe of Union; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
