Obituary

Violet E. Miles (Jones), 83, of Pacific passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at her home.

Violet, daughter of David Jones and wife Dorothy (Bedwell) was born June 17, 1937 in Cedar Grove, Missouri. As a young lady their family moved to many places due her father's work in the timber industry. In 1952 they moved to Marion, Kentucky. After a year they moved to Dupo, IL where she worked for Welsch Baby Carriage. From Dupo they moved to St. Louis where she met Gene. On November 13, 1954 they united in marriage in East St. Louis, IL and were blessed with one son, Michael. After her son was of school age, she was employed at Bussmann Fuse until 2001 when she retired after many years of service to the company.

Violet enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome and camping at various places. One of her favorite places to visit was Colorado.

She loved her family very much and looked forward to visiting her grandsons in Idaho.

She was a member at First Baptist Church Allenton in Pacific.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, David and Dorothy Jones and two brothers, Jack Jones and David Jones.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Miles of Pacific; one son, Michael Miles and wife Tammy of Pacific; two brothers, Jerry Jones and wife Karen of Jackson, TN and Terry Jones and wife Connie of Salem; one grandson, Corey Miles and wife Kristen of Mountain Home, Idaho; two great-grandsons, Zachary and Gavin; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association are preferred.
