Vernon Woodruff, 86 of St. Clair passed away Friday, August 24, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Woodruff, son of Claude Woodruff and wife Mary Ann nee Enloe was born June 24, 1926 in Bourbon, Missouri.

On June 17, 1950 he was united in marriage to Doris Allen in Union. He was a heavy equipment operator and member the Operations Engineers Union Local 513. Mr. Woodruff was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in St. Clair.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mary Ann Woodruff; four brothers, Eddie Woodruff, Kenneth Woodruff, Charles Woodruff and Glenn Woodruff; one sister, Marie Thompson; two granddaughters, Vanessa Johnston and Angela Sherwood.

Mr. Woodruff is survived by his wife Doris Woodruff of St. Clair; three sons, Joe Woodruff of St. Clair, David Woodruff of St. Clair and Larry Woodruff and wife Wanda of St. Clair; two daughters, Cheryl Conaway and husband Roman "J.R." of Sullivan and Lana Garris and husband Terry of Union; one brother, Albert Woodruff and wife Doreen of Mt. View; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
