Verna Oberhaus nee Sassmann, 94 of Union passed away, Friday, May 25, 2012 at her home.

Mrs. Oberhaus, daughter of John Sassmann and wife Adele nee Kruger was born January 28, 1918 in New Haven.

She was a faithful member of The Christian Science Church of Washington.

On April 14, 1944 she was united in marriage to Melvin Oberhaus.

Mrs. Oberhaus was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Oberhaus; her parents, John and Adele Sassmann; her brother, Kenneth Sassmann and her sister, Opal Nichols.

She is survived by her son, Melvin Oberhaus of St. Louis; two daughters, Becky Gable and husband Joe of Union and Sandy Winkelmeier and husband Dave of Union; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
