Verna Mae Edwards (Tourville), 86, of St. Clair passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026 in Fenton.
Verna, daughter of the late Steve Tourville and wife Grace (Hopkins) was born August 31, 1939, in Washington, Missouri.
On December 6, 1958, she was United in marriage to Richard A. Edwards in St. Clair.
During high school she was very active in sports and was a setter in volleyball. She graduated from St. Clair High School and extended her education at East Central College where she earned an associate's degree.
Verna and Richard expressed their faith as members at St. Clair Southern Baptist Church for many years.
She worked many manufacturing jobs around the Washington area including BorgWarner. She also worked at St. John's Hospital in Washington as a receptionist for many years.
Verna had many enjoyments during her lifetime. Bowling with friends, crocheting, playing cards and games with family and friends. She loved boating and being on the lake. Going out to eat and trying new restaurants was a must for Verna. She could lose track of time and spend hours shopping. Taking Corvette rides and visiting wineries in the country was the kind of fun Verna loved. Verna and Richard had wonderful times traveling the country in their RV where they met many friends that they kept in touch with for years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Grace Tourville.
Verna is survived by her husband, Richard A. Edwards of St. Clair; two children, Tammy Edwards of Washington and Richard S. Edwards of St. Clair; one sister, Margret Rowden and husband Walter M. of St. Clair; three grandchildren, Tiffany L. Rion and husband Alvin R. of Marthasville, Allie Vaughn and husband Jerrell of St. Clair and Steven Edwards of Bourbon; five great grandchildren, Madicyn Rion, Randy Rion, Maycee Rion, Jett Vaughn and Jaxx Vaughn; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
