Tommy Hallam left this world on June 17, 2013. He was born, Tommy Ray Hallam in Doniphan, Missouri on November 28, 1938 and died June 17, 2013 in Brooksville, Florida. Tommy was 74 years old. He left behind two daughters, Michelle Leeper and husband, Paul, of Lecanto, Florida. Melissa Rozelle and husband, Cecil Dye, of Homosassa, Florida. Five grandchildren, Jeremy Rose of Ocala, Florida, Jennifer McCreary and husband, Paul, of Citrus Springs, Florida, Bethany Tidwell and husband, Tony, of Homosassa, Florida, Tricia Durham of Inverness, Florida and Jacob Leeper of Lecanto, Florida. The joy of his life was his 6 great-grandchildren, Matthew Gerhart, Marissa Rose, Ian Rose, Aidan McCreary, Nathan Tidwell and Natalee Tidwell. Preceding him in death were his parents, Edgar Lee Hallam and Marie Hope Hallam-Mathis of Doniphan, Missouri, beloved brothers, Billy Hallam of St. Charles, Missouri and Bobby Hallam of Doniphan, Missouri. The mother of his two daughters, Barbara Ann Whitney-Petty, of Homosassa, Florida. Those surviving are his sister, Susie Stewart and husband, Jerry, of Doniphan, Missouri and brother, Teddy Hallam of Metaire, Louisiana, Sisters-in-law, Christine Skipper-Hallam of St. Charles, Missouri and Doris Hallam of St. Peters, Missouri. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, close friends and business associates. Tommy was a meat cutter with Krey Meat Packing Company in St. Louis, Missouri in the early working years of his life where he made many life-long friendships, but he was most successful and admired for his nearly 20 years as a drug and alcohol counselor. He was owner and operator of Missouri Alcohol Assessment Consultants, Inc. in Union, Missouri. He held the titles of Certified Reciprocal Advanced Alcohol Drug Counselor for the State of Missouri and was a Board Member and Regional Representative for the State of Missouri Addiction Counselor Association. He helped to change many lives while holding these positions and for this his family is most proud and grateful. Tommy loved to fish and visit with friends and family. He was the happiest while in the company of fellow Alcoholics Anonymous members either in a casual setting, a meeting or helping a newcomer. He truly wanted others to know the peace and a relationship with God that he had found through the program. He celebrated 40 years of sobriety with family and friends on March 23, 2013 in Florida.
