Obituary

Timothy "Tim" Van Dixon of Gerald, MO was born October 3, 1951, in Heidelberg, Germany; the son of Paul Dixon and his wife, Maxine (Hudson). Tim passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the age of 73 years.

He was united in marriage to Bonnie (Hoemann) on April 18, 1998, and the couple was one day short of celebrating their 27th wedding anniversary.  Tim was a huge animal lover, and his two beloved dogs, China and Pepper, reaped the benefits of that love. He helped every cat in Franklin County that he possibly could.  Tim had a huge work ethic that he passed down to his children and was employed at Bull Moose Tube for more than 40 years.  He wanted to work through his chemotherapy treatments, so not to disrupt his perfect attendance, and only retired when he was forced to due to health issues.  Tim enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Family was at the heart of all Tim did, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Maxine Dixon; his stepmother, Mae Dixon; three siblings: Pam Pearre, Brenda Nave, and Rick Dixon; two great-grandchildren: Shannon Wood and Arizona Wood; and two nephews: Denny Hoemann and Jeremy Selph.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Dixon of Gerald; one daughter, Beth Harbert and husband Andy of Owensville; five sons: John Dixon and wife Theresa of Owensville, Timmy Dixon and wife Maggie of Kingdom City, Dewane Courtouise and wife Elaine of Leslie, Doug Courtouise and wife Traci of Bourbon, and Ronnie Courtouise and wife Crystal of Gerald; seventeen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Pete Vannatta and wife Patti of St. James; brothers-in-law: David Hoemann and wife Peggy, Larry Hoemann, Mark Hoemann, and Gregg Pearre; one sister-in-law, Sally Kreftmeyer and husband Henry; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Memorials in honor of Tim Dixon can be made to the Franklin County Humane Society.
