Thomas Wayne McNelly, 73, of Sullivan passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 at his home.

Mr. McNelly, son of the late James McNelly and wife Mareda nee Turner was born January 3, 1945 in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Thomas served his country with two enlistments in the United States Army completing three tours in the Vietnam War. He later enlisted in the United States Navy serving out another term.

On May 23, 1975 he was united in marriage to Kathie Lindsey in Clayton, Missouri.

Thomas was a life-time member of the VFW Post 3987 in Sullivan.

He enjoyed and took great pride in his work with the moving company and providing for his family.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mareda McNelly and two brothers, James McNelly and Richard McNelly.

He is survived by his wife, Kathie McNelly of Sullivan; five children, Angela Neal-Walker of Herculaneum, Todd Neal and wife Melissa of Festus; Chad McNelly and wife Bobbi Jo of St. Louis, Kathlyn Byrd of Sullivan and Dawn Bennett and husband Jon of Sullivan; one brother, John Edward McNelly and wife Carol of High Ridge; sixteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
