Obituary

Thomas Clayton Aubuchon, 78, of Westphalia passed away, Thursday, July 15, 2021, in Jefferson City.

On April 8, 1943, Thomas was born to the union of William Aubuchon and Frances (Kelsey) in St. Louis.

Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Army.

On July 2, 1982, Thomas was united in marriage to Melissa "Lissa" (Stolte) in Hollywood, Florida.

Thomas was in law enforcement and corrections for most of his life. He served as a police officer in St. Clair from August 1975 to December 1979 moving through the ranks and eventually becoming a Lieutenant. He received a Medal of Honor & Citation Star for bravery after saving a fellow officers life in the line of duty. Thomas also served as an officer in the village of Parkway in Licking. He would then move on to work as a corrections officer for 22 years before retiring. He received a token of gratitude from the Missouri Department of Corrections Officer Association for his attitude, initiative and spirit.

He enjoyed his Harley and sharing his passion with his son Randy. Thomas also loved riding and showing horses with his wife Lissa and daughter Bobbie. He served as president of the Mid-Mo Stock Horse Association rom 1994-1996.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances Aubuchon; brother, Billy Aubuchon and sister-in-law, Rosemary Aubuchon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Lissa Aubuchon of Westphalia; two sons, Randy Aubuchon and fiancé Peggy O'Neal of Eureka and Bryan Van Ness of Ohio; one daughter, Bobbie Jo Kinsley and husband Phillip of Peculiar, MO; one sister, Judy LeFauire and husband Lee of Florida; two grandsons, Damian and Dexter Kinsley; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial donations to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital are preferred.
