Theresa R. Weakley (nee Thiem), 84, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, in St. Clair, Missouri. She was born in Union, Missouri on November 1, 1939, the daughter of Herman and Stella (nee Varner) Thiem. She was raised in and completed her schooling in Union.
After serving three years in the Air Force, Theresa spent her entire working career at McDonald Douglas/Boeing. During her career with McDonnell Douglas, she worked on many projects including Project Gemini, the second human spaceflight program.
In her spare time, she sang in the choir at Florissant Presbyterian Church, before moving to the Sullivan area and the Kitchen Band performing at nursing homes. She was well known for her talent of crocheting such items as the alter cloth for her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Stella Thiem; siblings: Lawrence Willis, Elizabeth Bay, Grover Willis, Marie Willis, Norma Meyer, Raymond Thiem, Patricia Sachs, Janet Baker, James Thiem; and one granddaughter, Kathleen Weakley.
She is survived by one daughter, Pamela Lee of Florissant; one son, Rodney Weakley and wife Amber of Sullivan; sister, Jackie Swan of O'Fallon; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
