Theodore "Ted" Metz, of St. Louis, MO passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the age of 67. He was born in St. Louis; the son of Louis Metz and Betty (Deming) Metz, on January 23, 1958. He was united in marriage to Diana Cohill, in St. Louis, on October 11, 1989.

Ted earned a degree in engineering and was a lifelong student of life itself, striving to learn something new every day. He was a very meticulous and very organized intellectual, earning a patent for a hip replacement, as well as other related patents. Ted loved working with his hands on the many building projects that he designed and completed.

In his spare time, he loved raising orchids and feeding hummingbirds. A fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Blues hockey, he also enjoyed listening to rock and blues music. Most of all, he loved all things in nature and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Metz; brother, Louis "Mick" Metz; and sister, Joyce Mueller.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Diana Metz of St. Louis; his mother, Betty Metz of St. Clair; daughters: Jessica Harvey and husband Brian of St. Charles, Lynn McCormack and fiancé Travis Beeker of St. Louis, and Nicole Metz of St. Louis; son, Jeremy Reese of St. Louis; brothers: Paul Metz and wife Lynn of Chesterfield, and David Metz of St. Clair; ten grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
