Terry Scott Downey, 53, passed away peacefully in Creve Coeur on June 21, 2024.

Scott was born in Washington, Missouri on March 5, 1971, and grew up in the St. Clair and Union area. Scott was a man of various trades and hobbies. Through his working years he was employed in sales, eventually switching careers to become an over-the-road truck driver. Scott enjoyed the scenery during his trips.

An avid Los Angeles Lakers and Ford Truck fan, Scott spent many hours being teased by those who loved him for his choice in teams and vehicles. Scott enjoyed playing pool in various leagues with friends and family. He especially enjoyed time spent with his brother Larry and his son Matt winning numerous tournaments throughout the area, memories that will always be treasured by his family and friends.

Scott is survived by his son, Matthew Downey (Chelsa) of Washington; grandson, Joseph Scott Downey of Washington; his mother, Linda Ely and stepfather Tom Ely of Union; his siblings, Cole Ely of Illinois, Ashley Ely of Union, Mike Downey of House Springs, Dustin Downey of St. Clair and J.C. Downey of Pacific; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Downey; one brother, Larry Downey; and paternal grandmother, Mayme Downey.
