Obituary

Susan "Sue" Marie (Wikman) Gay was born April 1, 1956 in Muskegon, Michigan; the daughter of Howard and Esther (Lillmars) Wikman.  Sue passed away Friday, April 19, 2024 at the age of 68 years.

Sue graduated from Muskegon High School and then completed her nursing training. She began her career as an LPN, working in a variety of positions including hospitals, nursing homes, and as a camp nurse at a local Christian camp.  Sue moved to Denver, Colorado in 1983 on the promise of a part-time job at Colorado General Hospital.  She met her future husband, Glen, through the singles group at Galilee Baptist Church in June 1984 and they were married at Orchard View Congregational Church in Muskegon Michigan in May 1985.  Glen and Sue enjoyed almost 39 years as husband and wife.  They raised two wonderful special needs children – Joshua (36) who lives in Imperial MO with the support of JudeVine Center for Autism, and Bethany (34) who resides at PonyBird in Mapaville, MO.  Over the years, Sue spent many happy days camping with Glen and the kids. The family enjoyed fishing and sitting around the campfire at the cabin that Sue and Glen purchased when Bethany could no longer be accommodated in the camper.  Sue enjoyed cross-stitch, yellow roses, St Louis Cardinals Baseball, and anything MICHIGAN!

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Esther Wikman; her brother-in-law and best man, Maynard Grannemann; and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins who were waiting with open arms to greet her for the first of many Heavenly parties!

Sue is survived by her husband, Glen; one son, Joshua; one daughter, Bethany; two brothers: Bruce and wife Vicki, and Craig and wife Jeanine. She loved a close family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and 2 great-great-nieces.  She also had a large close family at Faith Baptist Church in Festus and her previous churches, Manchester Baptist Church and The Journey in Ballwin, MO where the family lived for over 25 years.

Sue's bright smile and kind heart will be missed by all who knew and loved her!
