Susan H. Brown nee Hill, 64 of Union passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 peacefully at home. Mrs. Brown, daughter of Starr Hill, Jr. and wife Dorothy nee Peralta was born January 28, 1949 in Reno, Nevada. On January 3, 1970 she was united in marriage to Steve Brown in Reno, Nevada. Before moving to Union, Sue was a long-time resident of Webster Groves, Missouri and member of the Webster Groves Herb Society. In addition to being a talented all-around "craftsperson", Sue was an accomplished fiber artist-spinner, weaver, natural dyer, knitter, crocheter, needle felter, seamstress, and art doll creator. Sue was a member of the Franklin County Fiber Guild, Rural Missouri Spinners and the Weavers Guild of St. Louis Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her father, Starr Hill, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Steve Brown of Union; two sons, Matt Brown and wife Kathleen of Union and Tim Brown of Bourbon; one daughter, Stephanie Shaner and husband Bryan of Bourbon; her mother, Dorothy Hill of Washington; three grandchildren, Brianna Brown, Evelyn Shaner and Olin Shaner; a large and loving extended family and a myriad of great friends.
