Steve Samuel DeClue Sr., 71, of St. Clair passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at his home.

Mr. DeClue, son of the late William DeClue and wife Mary (Landers) was born June 29, 1946 in Festus.

On February 29, 1964 he was united in marriage to Rose Ann Williams in Waterloo, Illinois.

Steve was an Over the Road Truck Driver for Ice Cream Specialty in St. Louis giving 35 years of service. He was also a member of Teamsters Local 600.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding and being an all-around collector. He never missed a chance to attend his grandchildren's sporting events and activities. As a talented wood worker, he made toys and furniture and was excellent at restoring antique wood items. He was a supporter of the NRA.

Steve recently found God and was Baptized in June of this year and member of Roots Church in St. Clair.

Mr. DeClue was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary DeClue; eight siblings, Bill DeClue, Bobby DeClue, Raymond DeClue, Johnnie DeClue, Daniel DeClue, Frances DeClue, Norma DeClue and Kathy Barton.

He is survived by his wife Rose Ann DeClue of St. Clair; four children, Lori Johnson and husband Curt of Washington, Debra Pikey of St. Clair, Steve DeClue Jr. and wife Michell of St. Clair and William DeClue and wife Laura of St. Clair; five siblings, Darlene Mertz of St. Clair, Shirley Hogue of Sullivan, Elmer DeClue and wife Peggy of St. Clair, Gary DeClue of Lonedell and Eddie DeClue and wife Donna of St. Clair; thirteen grandchildren, Wes Johnson, Evan Johnson, Trey Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Natasha Pikey, Stevani Pikey, Justine Tanner, David "Buzz" Tanner and wife Brittany, Samantha Saling and husband Sam, Lauren Wise, Airmen Coty DeClue, Addy DeClue and Kalli DeClue; five great-grandchildren; two blessings to arrive in the spring; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
