Simone
Steinmetz
March 22, 1933 – April 17, 2018
Simone Steinmetz, 85, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in her home in Washington with family at her side.
She was born March 22, 1933 in Goffstown, New Hampshire and moved to the St. Louis area with her parents in 1950.
On January 19, 1952 she was united in Marriage to George R. Steinmetz in Shrewsbury, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Emil and Rose Soucy, her husband, George Steinmetz, and her son Glenn Steinmetz.
Simone is survived by two sons, Dale Steinmetz and wife Kathi of Edwardsville, IL and Mike Steinmetz and companion Sue of Visalia, CA; one daughter, Lisa Braun and husband Tim of Union; two sisters, Marie McLeod of Huntington Beach, CA and Andrea Haynes of Hollister, MO; six grandchildren, Sherri Stout, Christina Stroehmer, Michael Steinmetz all of Edwardsville, IL, Dwaine Steinmetz of Richmond, Texas, Emily Braun and Jack Braun both of Union; seven great grandchildren, Molly Stout, Joshua Stout, Samuel Stout, Riley Stroehmer, Hunter Stroehmer, Elizabeth Steinmetz, Silas Steinmetz; other relatives and many friends.
Family was the meaning of life for Simone and she loved having family around.
Simone worked various jobs throughout her life and was the ever-present home keeper, host, meal maker and caregiver for all in her family. She was the type of person that never met a stranger.
In later years Simone was always accompanied in her home by her "best friend dog" Winston. They enjoyed each other's company immensely.
Simone loved playing slot machines and was unnaturally lucky. She attended many bus trips to casinos with friends in the area and loved to go to local casinos with her kids. She usually was the only family member that won. We never figured out how.
She will be missed deeply and remembered forever.Midlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens
