Shirley Rogers, of Union, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the age of 89.  She was born in Rosebud, MO to Charles and Elsie (Vorderbruegge) Stradford, on September 16, 1936. Shirley was united in marriage to Avery "Lavern" Rogers, on February 5, 1955, in Owensville. He preceded her in death in 2007.

She was an active member of the Life Stream Church in Union for over forty years, serving as the church secretary, caring for children in the nursery and teaching a teens class among other ways of serving her church.  Shirley's spunky personality was shown in the little things that she did, like making sure that her purse and shoes matched when at all possible.

In her free time, she was an avid reader, enjoyed raising house plants, sewing and the challenge of word puzzles, but most of all she loved being with her grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Avery "Lavern" Rogers; parents, Charles and Elsie Stradford; son, Gregory Rogers; sisters, Helen Branson, Phyllis Carpenter, and Sharon Merrill; great-grandson, Owen Armstrong.

She is survived by her daughter, Denise Teal and husband Michael of Union; son, Larry Rogers of Union; sister, Barbara Quirouet and husband Glen of Owensville; grandchildren, Andrew (Amanda), Amber (Chris), Devin (Jeff), Dena, Jordan( Ryann), Heather, Shanee and Bryana (Kyle); eighteen great-grandchildren, Elijah, Kylee, Tristan, Cayman, Ethan, Benjamin, Olivia, Addison, Kendyll, Greyson, Callahan, Ezri, Audrielle, Landen, Natalya, Bella, Sam, and Ava; one great-great-granddaughter, Blakelee; other relatives and many friends.
