Shirley L. Cotner (Best), 85, of Union passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 at her home.

Shirley, daughter of Ralph Best and Virginia Lansche (Dixon), was born March 7, 1936 in Eminence, Missouri.

In 1952 she was united in marriage to Winfred Cotner in St. Louis.

During her lifetime, Shirley enjoyed crocheting, playing Rummy, working puzzles, and watching her soap operas. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and was always there for anyone who needed her.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Best and Virginia Lansche; her husband, Winfred Cotner; three sons, Aaron Cotner, Warren "Dale" Cotner and Ivan Cotner in infancy and one daughter, Ruth Ann Cotner.

She is survived by five children, Phyllis Fellous and husband Stephen of Sarasota, FL, Dianna Elkins and partner John LaChance of Union, Deanna Stranz of House Springs, Mark Cotner and wife Cheryl (Geil) of Fenton, Darrell Cotner of Brighton, Illinois; five siblings, David Best and his wife Carol (Kuchler) of Hawk Point, Wanda Pummill of Eminence, Rosemary Newport and husband Raymond of Benton, KY, Gina Lansche of Eminence,  Lisa Lynn Zalbak and husband Larry of Hawk Point; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are preferred.
