Obituary

Sarah Elaine Noles (Caulk), 78, of Union, passed away unexpectedly on, Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at her home.

On January 17, 1945, Sarah was born to the union of Charles Evans Caulk and Sarah Margaret (Jackson) in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

She received her education in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Sarah worked as a printer for Rite Point Pen Company.

She was a very loving "Gigi" to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sarah often enjoyed playing board games with them including "Sorry" and "Scrabble". She was known by them as the Badminton Queen. Sarah was also a challenging player at "Rummy". When she wasn't dominating her family at sports and games, she found solace in the peaceful art of crocheting. Sarah crocheted many Afghan blankets for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To top it all off, Sarah was also an excellent baker. Even in her elder years she made sure that everyone in her family received a birthday cake. Family gatherings were never complete without a pan of her famous brownies. Sarah loved to go out to the senior center, dancing, finding trinkets and treasures at garage sales and re-sale shops. In her younger years she enjoyed visiting White Lake, North Carolina.  Sarah had a special place in her heart for children, especially those who were faced with the same medical challenges that she faced. Most of all Sarah loved her family and friends very much. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Evans Caulk and Sarah Margaret Godwin; brother, Glen T. Caulk; sister, Betty Railey; brother-in-law, William Stevens.
