Ronnie
Starks
February 21, 1950 – September 28, 2023
Ronnie "Ron" Dean Starks passed away peacefully at his home in Union, Missouri on September 28th, 2023 at the age of 73. Ronnie was born to Rev. Floyd "Dean" Starks and Helen Frances Starks (nee Armstead) in St. Louis, Missouri on February 21st, 1950. Ronnie graduated O'Fallon Tech Class of 1968 and attended Harris Stowe State College 1988-1991.
Ronnie's greatest love was for his family. He is survived by his children, Robyn Lynn Starks of Orange Beach, Alabama, John Michael David Starks and wife Dana of St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren, Taylor Starks, Isaac Starks, Ethan Brown and Kayla Starks; two siblings, Michael Starks Sr. and wife Judy of Oklahoma, Debrah Mantle and husband David of Union, Missouri; along with a niece, nephew, cousins, aunts, uncles and so many dear friends. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Floyd & Helen Starks as well as his loving Stepmother Ruby "Ovene" Cook-Starks.
Ronnie wore many hats figuratively and literally. The most important to him of course was that of a father and grandfather as they were his pride and joy. He worked many years in the Auto Industry and loved working on and of course driving muscle cars. He later found a passion for painting and restoring homes. He is also known to many as "Coach Ron" as he coached countless Soccer and Baseball teams over the years and thought of many of them as his own through the years. He was a dear friend to many and considered so many family. He loved most sports, however, his favorite was Soccer, Baseball, and he passed along his love of racing to Robyn and her children and they will carry on his traditions for years to come. Many of you know he was also a Cheerleader of sorts, he loved cheering on and bragging on his children and grandchildren's accomplishments and posting them on Facebook of course. He was an epic TV/Movie buddy, he loved going to countless movies with his family as it was a passion they all shared and of course his sneaking in legendary snacks like the "Super Ron" Sandwiches. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles over the years. He loved history, historic homes, and historic sites. He would be found many of nights in the area singing Sinatra and the like at Karaoke. He loved the beach and the Gulf. He had a passion of collecting anything with Elephants. He loved to travel wherever the road took him. He liked being the Big Brother to his siblings. He loved his Mothers cooking so much, nobody else could come close. He loved to make people laugh and he did just that. His puns, jokes, and quick wit will surely be missed, however, he did pass it on to his family.
