Robert Whitaker, 83 of Union passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010 in Washington, Missouri.

Mr. Whitaker, son of the late John and Laura Whitaker was born July 13, 1926 in Dixon, Missouri.

On August 5, 1950 he was united in marriage to Mildred Doyle in Pulaski County, Missouri.

He worked at the Washington High School and retired after 25 years of service.

Mr. Whitaker was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Whitaker; his parents, John & Laura Whitaker; three brothers, Bill Whitaker, Johnny Whitaker and Arthur Whitaker and two sisters, Martha Nolan and Mable McKinnon.

He is survived by two sons, Robert W. Whitaker and wife Sue of Union and William Whitaker of St. Clair; one daughter, Janet Rose and significant other Dave Stahlman of St. Clair; seven grandchildren, James Rose and wife Connie, Misty Killam, Libby Kline and husband Bill, Amy Schwanitz and husband Ira, Libby Whitaker, Lisa Whitaker and Robert Lee Whitaker II; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
