Robert Maness 90, of Union Passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Sullivan.
Mr. Maness son of the late Charles Maness and wife Melissa nee Benton was born October 7, 1918 at Desoto, Missouri.
He served in the United States Army during WWII at Aleutian Islands. He also received a Bronze Star and a Good Conduct Medal.
On February 19, 1945 he was united in marriage to Jeanne Hicks at Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Mr. Maness was a member of the Union Hardees Breakfast Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Melissa Maness; his wife Jeanne Maness; one son, Raymond Maness; one daughter, Carolyn Draheim; four brothers, Gilbert Maness, Herbert Maness, Wilbert "Bill" Maness and Albert Maness; two sisters, Alta DeClue and Myrtle Soetebier; one grandson, Bradley Cahill; one great-great-granddaughter, Madison Ratcliff and daughter-in-law, Jodi Maness.
Mr. Maness is survived by two sons, Robert Maness of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and Tommy Maness (Cynthia Smith) of Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter, Flora Jupina of Union; one sister, Lula Rogers of St. Clair; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; other relatives and many friends.
