Robert "Bob" Helton Jr., of Sullivan, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the age of 66 years.

Robert was born on September 3, 1954 in St. Louis, to Robert Lee Helton Sr. and Betty Josephine (nee Sanders) Helton.

He was a 1973 graduate of Sullivan High School. He enjoyed hobbies like fishing, hunting, boating and floating with friends. He never knew an enemy and was a soft-hearted father to his children as well.

He made a living working with his hands in construction. For most of his career, he worked in the concrete industry, but he enjoyed helping others with carpentry as well.

He found the Lord through salvation in 1981 and was baptized at New Testament Baptist Church in Sullivan.

He valued friendships, family and helping others. He was a comfort to many. He was dearly loved and cherished by his siblings, his children, his grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by one son, Robert Lee Helton III and fiancee' Nita Heinle, of Sullivan; three daughters, Angela Henderson and husband Dale of Rosebud, Samantha Lappe and husband Tony of Eureka and Moriah Helton of Eureka; two step-daughters, Heather Lucas and husband Kurt of Sullivan, Alicia Poebla and husband Dax of Sullivan; two sisters, Rebecca Soltysiak and Michael Kaelin of Chesterfield and Laura Buchta and husband Greg of Jefferson City; seven grandchildren, Emily Osbourn, Thomas Henderson, Lane Jones, Carter Helton, Payton Helton, Nicholas Lappe and Anthony Lappe, many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Helton Sr., and Betty Josephine (nee Sanders) Helton; his wife Debra Sanders; one brother, Mitchell Charles Helton; two sisters, Lisa Faye (nee Helton) Davis and Elizabeth Ann Helton; one son Nicholas Christopher Helton.

A memorial service is planned for Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Acid Mine Road, Sullivan where a short service and dinner will be provided for family & friends.
