Robert Doney Sr., 83 of Owensville passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 in St. James. Mr. Doney, son of the late Luther Doney and Alice nee Sanders was born November 16, 1931 in St. Louis. On November 11, 1956 he was united in marriage to Joyce Dorian in St. Louis. Mr. Doney served his country in the United States Navy seeing action in the Korean War. While in active service he was selected to play competitive basketball for the Navy. He worked as a Missouri State Trooper from June 30, 1955 until his retirement on September 1, 1989. Mr. Doney was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Doney and Alice Greer; his wife Joyce Doney and his daughter, Paula Doney. He is survived by one son, Robert Doney Jr. of Owensville; one daughter, Jackie Wisdom and husband Jeff of St. James; one brother, Frank Greer of St. Louis; nine grandchildren, Nick Cuchetti of Owensville, Brian Cuchetti of Owensville, Felicia Light and husband Daren of Belle, Christina Rademacher and husband Simon of Owensville, Ashley Wisdom of St. James, Chelsea Wisdom of St. James, Erica Parkhurst husband Colton of Albany, MO, Emily Ross of Albany, MO and Chad Ross of Albany, MO; seven great-grandchildren, Ayden, Bentley, Dylan, Owen, Symone, Adalynn and Peyton; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
