Obituary

Robert "Rob" Rettinghaus Jr., 51 of St. Clair, passed away, Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Creve Coeur.

On August 25, 1970, Rob was born to the union of Robert Rettinghaus Sr. and Toyea (Fisher) in Granite City, Illinois.

Rob graduated from Pacific High School in 1988 before moving on to Linn Tech becoming a certified auto mechanic.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Desert Storm and after his dedicated and faithful service was honorably discharged.

Rob was also a member of the St. Clair VFW.

Rob was full of life and always knew how to bring a laugh to someone's day. True country boy at heart, he enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing and playing washers. Given his background he also liked working on cars. Most of all Rob loved spending time with the children in his family especially his grandchildren. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Sr. & Toyea Rettinghaus; one son, Brady Conway.

Rob is survived by his three sons, Cody Rettinghaus & wife Briana of New Haven, Gavin McIntyre of Villa Ridge & Tommy Benner & significant other Makenzie Munsinger of New Haven; two daughters, Tara Benner of Union and Kaitlyn Hammett; brother, Jason Rettinghaus & wife Adrianne of Wentzville; sister, Teri Glaser & husband Brad of New Haven; three grandchildren, Beau, Hunter & Grayson; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
