Richard Powell Green, 77, of St. Clair passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 in Washington.

Richard, son of Arthur Green and wife Viola (Powers) was born September 21, 1943 in East St. Louis, IL.

On November 9, 1968 he was united in marriage to Marla Browning in St. Clair County, Illinois.

He enjoyed walking his dog and spending as much time as possible with his family. He always went out of his way to help others and to be a handyman for those in need. He loved the outdoors and growing flowers in his home garden.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Viola Green; his wife, Marla Green.

He is survived by his two daughters, Myla Ashby and husband Scott of Sullivan and Yvonne Trentman of Belleville, IL; one son, Richard Daniel Green of Belleville, IL; one brother, Harry Green of Belleville, IL; one sister, Shirley Bushong of Glen Carbon, IL of three grandchildren, Elizabeth Broeker and husband Jacob of St. Clair, Lauren Ashby Sullivan and Glen Trentman of Belleville; one great-grandson, Henry Broeker; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

A private graveside service will be held.

Memorial donations to the Franklin County Humane Society are preferred.
