Obituary

Richard "Rick" Dale Marler, 59 of St. Clair passed away June 13, 2021 in St. Louis.

On January 21, 1962 Rick was born to the union of Louis Marler and Delores (Gann) in St. Louis.

Rick attended St. Clair High School.

He was of the Baptist faith.

On November 26, 1988 Rick was united in marriage to Mona (Cowsert) at Duly Baptist Church in St. Clair.

He worked at Drury Display, St. Clair Diecast and Sportsman Supply.

Rick was a sports fanatic. His absolute favorite teams were Notre Dame, St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues. His family describes him as a sports encyclopedia and history buff. He loved old westerns especially if they starred John Wayne. Rick loved the outdoors and fishing. Most of all Rick enjoyed spending time with family and his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Delores Marler; three brothers, Jesse Marler, Louis "Doodle" Marler and Greg Marler; uncle, Sherman Gann.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Mona Marler of St. Clair; one son, Andrew Marler of St. Clair; bonus sons, Blake Schlater and Buck Wieda; two daughters, Ashley Hunyar and husband Nicholas of St. Clair and Alyse Marler of St. Clair; bonus daughters, Camry Cowsert, Amy and Angie Cowsert, Sam Record, Eva Wieda, Nicole Abboud and Tara Hays; many other bonus children; two brothers, Michael Marler and wife Gena of St. Clair and Tom Marler and wife Sheila of St. Clair; two sisters, Debbie Weber and husband Dave of St. Clair and Karen Davis and husband Dave of Washington; three sisters-in-law, Pamela Marler of St. Clair, Kim Marler of St. Clair and Kim Cowsert of St. Clair; four grandchildren, Mason ,Ashton, Grayson and Keilee Hunyar all of St. Clair; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
