Raymond Govro, 80 of Vichy formerly of Eureka passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014 peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones. Mr. Govro, son of the late Edward Govro and wife Willhemena nee Heidebur was born August 14, 1933 in St. Louis. He served his country stateside for two years in the United Army during the early 1950's until receiving an honorable discharge. He owned and operated Roadside Sanitation in Eureka for thirty years before retiring in 1996. After his retirement he bought a farm near Belle that he enjoyed to its fullest. He loved his family and everyone loved him, he never met a stranger. He had a special laugh and humor that was always contagious to others. Mr. Govro was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Verna Govro and five siblings. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Govro of Vichy; his daughter, Deborah Otten and husband Dennis of Barnhart; two step-sons, Don Young and wife Kay of St. Charles and Ray Young and wife Evalda of St. Clair; two step-daughters, Teresa Curtis of Vichy and Barb Schmitz of Grass Valley, CA; one sister, Eleanor Roach of Topeka, KS; several grandchildren; one great-grandson; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Ray will be greatly missed by all.
