Ray Shadrick, 88 of St. Clair passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in Washington. Mr. Shadrick, son of the late Gus Shadrick and wife Grace nee Burnett was born September 17, 1926 in Sullivan. On October 16, 1948 he was united in marriage to Ruby Triplett in St. Clair. Mr. Shadrick proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II receiving the rank of Sergeant. For a short time he worked for the Franklin County Highway Department. He went on to work at Ford Motor Company where he retired after 30 years of service. After retirement Ray and Ruby enjoyed camping and traveling making their way to many parks and out of state destinations. Ray was of the Christian Faith serving as a Deacon at New Hope Baptist Church in Sullivan. He loved his church and loved to serve the Lord. Mr. Shadrick was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Virgil Shadrick and Rube Shadrick; two sisters, Mae Flora and Ruth Reed; five infant siblings and one great-granddaughter, Lizzie Green. He is survived by his wife Ruby Shadrick of St. Clair; two daughters, Patsy Green and husband Clifton of St. Clair and Rebecca Tate and husband Kelly of St. Clair; one sister, Velma Love of St. Clair; four grandchildren, Curt Green and wife Sibyl of Gerald, Andrew Green and wife Miranda of St. Clair, Nathan Tate and wife Vicki of St. Clair and Jeremy Tate and wife Dana of Eureka; eight great-grandchildren, Sydnie, Grace, Kennedy, Braden, Preston, Paityn, Cullen and Ella; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
