Philip Howard Bonine, 84, of Union, MO passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024.

Phil, as he was known to family and his many friends, was born to the union of William "Paul" and Vera (Barber) Bonine, on October 14, 1940, in Versailles, MO. He married Ellen Simmons, in Hazelwood, on July 29, 1967.

He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1963-1964, and in the Air Force National Guard until his discharge, in 1969. Phil was employed as an Industrial Engineer with General Motors in Wentzville for 35 years, prior to his retirement. He was an avid bass fisherman, and a member of the Meramec Valley Bass Club for many years. In addition to fishing, he also enjoyed deer hunting, playing cornhole, tinkering in the garage, and loved spending time with his family at the lake.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, William "Paul" and Vera Bonine; one brother-in-law, John Morrison.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ellen Bonine of Union; three daughters: Laura Payne of Overland, Kim Weatherly and husband Jim of Union, and Kelly Cobb and husband Dale of Alabama; three siblings: Kay Morrison of St Charles, Bill Bonine and wife Peggy of Kansas, and David Bonine and wife Renee of Pevely; grandchildren: Travis Payne, Garrett Cobb, Kacie Hogan and husband Korey, Logan Cobb and wife Kassidy, Carsen Weatherly, and Braden Cobb; great-granddaughters: Jensen Cobb and Averie Hogan; special friends: Larry, Pete, Jeff, and Ken; other relatives and many friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at The Ridge Church in Villa Ridge, MO.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at The Ridge Church in Villa Ridge.  Please honor Phil by wearing patriotic clothing or fishing attire to the services.
