Paul Edward Burks, 61, of New Haven passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, in Washington.

Paul, son of Jesse Burks and wife Nellie (Gilmore) was born December 30, 1960, in Cuba, Missouri.

Paul loved to go fishing and spend time with his grandchildren. He was an excellent carpenter and always did a meticulous job. He was a dedicated long-time worker at Buckeye Industries in St. Louis and believer in God.  Most of all he will be remembered as a good man with a big heart.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Nellie Burks; one brother, Jesse Burks and two sisters, Donna Burks and Edna Treece.

He is survived by his significant other, Debbie Wehmeyer of New Haven; four children, Paul Burks Jr. of Catawissa, Jason Burks and wife Ashley of Potosi, Samantha Lenox and fiancé Jessica Murphy of O'Fallon, IL and Sarah Lenox and husband Justin of Bourbon; three step-sons, Eugene Wehmeyer and wife Rosie of Hermann, Jeff Wehmeyer and wife Chelsi of Swiss and Michael Wehmeyer and wife Latrica of O'Fallon, MO; four siblings, Lorraine Huntsman of St. Clair, Jim Burks of Mobile, AL, Angie Foushee and husband Kenny of Florida and Mary Patterson and husband Mark of Arkansas; twenty grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are preferred.
