Paul Stephen Anthony Reichl, 77, of Union, previously of St. Charles, passed away, Monday, May 22, 2023, in the comforting presence of his loving family at his daughter's home.
On May 6, 1946, Paul was born to the union of Albert Reichl and Hildegarde (Ladner) in Elmhurst, Illinois.
Paul was drafted into the United States Army and served two years in Vietnam.
He earned his master's in early childhood education from Illinois State University. Paul went on to teach for the next 30 plus years before retiring. He was always so good with kids and had a passion for teaching.
In his younger years, Paul was a talented college gymnast. He also had a successful modeling career which afforded him many opportunities such as starring on the original Hawaii 5-0, modeling for Hawaiian Tropic and other large brands. Ultimately Paul's passion was teaching but when he wasn't teaching her found joy in spending time with his family. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Hildegarde Reichl; Ralph Reichl, Robert Reichl and David Reichl.
He is survived by his son, Christian Tanner Reichl of St. Charles; his daughter, Leigh Reichl Crane and husband Jonathan of Union; one grandson, Cooper David Crane; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial donations are appreciated to Colonial Williamsburg.
