Patricia Ann
Beard
January 15, 1939 – November 26, 2025
Patricia Ann Beard, 86, of Washington, passed away in New Haven on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. She was born in the family home in rural Troy, Ohio, on January 15, 1939, the daughter of Donald and Marie (Leopard) Neff.
Prior to moving to Missouri from Ohio with her family in 1981, she operated a fruit market, raising many of the vegetables that were sold in the market with the help of her family. She later worked in the hospitality industry as a manager at the Breckenridge Hotel and Conference Center. After her retirement, she volunteered at Mercy Hospital in Washington for many years.
Patricia was known for her work on Swedish Woven Afghans, making sure that every member of her family and close friends had one of her cherished masterpieces, or as they were known by her grandchildren, "Grandma's Hugs," because of the love that came with every stitch. She loved each one of her grandchildren, receiving that love in return from her grandchildren, who loved their grandmother so very much. In her idle time, she also enjoyed playing games with her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Marie Neff, as well as her brother, Jack Neff, and her sister, Marilyn Rudisill.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Ginger, and husband Tony Meyers, of Washington; sons, Don and wife Jerri Goudy, of Kirkwood, David Goudy and wife Dena, of North Carolina, Bob Goudy and wife Jan, of Florida, Bill Goudy, of St. Louis, and Scott Beard and wife Theresa, of Ballwin; sister, Billie Fischer, of Ohio; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
The family would like to thank New Haven Care Center and their staff for the love and support that they provided over the one and one-half years that Patricia was in their care. In addition, the family would also like to thank Heartland Hospice and their staff for their care and support.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with burial in her native state of Ohio.
