Oscar Roy Bell, 82 of Villa Ridge passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015 at his home. Mr. Bell, son of the late Wesley Bell and wife Susie nee Trent was born October 12, 1932 in Ellington, Missouri. Mr. Bell proudly served his country for the United States Marine Corps seeing action in the Korean War. He worked for Tarlton Construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator and member of Hoistings Engineering Local 513 until his retirement. Oscar and his wife Glenda recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. He was a talented Musician and most of all a dedicated husband, father and grandfather with a special sense of humor. Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Susie Bell; his wife Glenda Bell; three brothers, Gordon Bell, Elzie "Dutch" Raymond Bell and Melvin "Shorty" Bell and two sisters, Ruby May Bahr and Thelma Mounce He is survived by two sons, Terry Bell of Villa Ridge and Steven Bell and wife Tammy of Union; three daughters, Susie Bell of Villa Ridge, Debra Burns of Indiana and Mindy Cooper of Union; two sisters, Janet DeClue and husband Roy of Kirkwood and Shirley Gene Van Gilder and husband Robert Ely of Richmond Heights; 12 grandchildren, Layla Helton, Sam Helton, Dani Bell, Lucas Bell, Austin Bell, Josh Herrington, Nick Herrington, Ben Cherry, Zach Cooper, Zeb Cooper, Jacob Herbst and Kayla Herbst; 22 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
