Obituary

Norma Kathleen Rose Obermark was a long awaited joy to her parents Porter and Kathleen Herrin Rose when she was born in Evansville, Indiana on August 31, 1957.  They had lost three sons prior to Kaye's birth.  Porter and Kathleen enjoyed every second they shared with Kaye. Kathleen's health began to decline after the birth of Kaye due to her having Multiple Sclerosis.  Porter became Kaye's primary caregiver, and the two of them were inseparable.

Kaye attended Cave In Rock First Baptist Church where she was saved and baptized October 8, 1967.  Kaye attended school at the Cave In Rock Grade School and High School.  After graduation in 1975, she continued to assist her father in running the family business, Rose Funeral Home and Ambulance Service.  She had found her niche in communicating with the public.  She was always wearing a smile and had a compassionate heart.  She could cheer the hurting families that were at the funeral home due to having lost loved ones.

Kaye had many caretakers in her childhood: her Aunt Norma Zinn Frayser, June Kaylor, Anne Bayne, Vena Faye Stanley, and Roberta Patton. Kaye never had siblings, but she had a very close cousin, Kathy Zinn Robinson, that she claimed as her sister.  Kaye enjoyed being a part of Kathy, Ronnie, and their four sons' families' lives.

Porter passed away October 22, 1985. Kaye continued to operate the funeral home until 1988 when she moved to Harrisburg, Illinois. Later she moved to St. Charles, Missouri where she met the love of her life Craig Obermark.   Kaye and Craig were married May 27, 1992. While she was in St. Charles she worked for an adult care facility where her winning smile and laughter brightened each of the patients' days.  Although Kaye didn't get to come back home often, she kept in close contact with the people she loved in Hardin County by telephone.

Her life in St. Clair, MO was a busy one for the first few years. She worked in the home health care field and other jobs as well. She was always happiest when she worked with the special people of Emmaus Home in Marthasville, MO. Throughout her years from 1992 until an auto accident she was able to travel until her eyesight began to fail her. A procedure to improve her sight was short lived and she was no longer able to drive. She has communicated with many people in St. Clair and Cave-In-Rock for several years by phone and computer.

She leaves behind a family in St. Clair. Craig's sister Christine (Rick) LeClaire and two children, nephew Ryan(Sarah) with three children and niece Courtney. Sister Rochelle (Mike) Barns and three children, Jessica(Michael) and two children and nieces Kelly and Lindsy.

Kaye departed this life on February 4, 2022.  She will be lovingly missed by her husband, Craig; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Francis and Wanda Obermark; her cousin Kathy (Ronnie) Robinson; and their four sons Paul (Donna); Jeff (Dana); Rob (Jamie); and Chris (Daysha) Robinson.  She will also be missed by her cat, Peaches.  She was preceded in death by her dog, Penny Lane, who was her close companion.

Kaye will certainly be missed here on earth, but she was welcomed to Heaven by her heavenly Father and her earthly "Daddy" and Mom.

Kaye will be interred to rest by her Mother and Father at a later committal date in the spring.
