Norma "Jean" Elmore nee Messex, 76 of Union passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 in Washington. Mrs. Elmore, daughter of the late Albert Messex and wife Emma nee Smith was born December 27, 1938 in Richwoods. On December 16, 1961 she was united in marriage to Frederick Elmore in Waterloo, IL. Norma worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Pacific Care Center until her retirement. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and crocheting often times making clothing. She was of the Christian Faith and attended the First Baptist Church in Wildwood. Mrs. Elmore was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Elmore; one brother, James Messex; one sister, Betty Jo Harrington; infant sister, Betty Jean Messex and two grandchildren, Jon Rutledge and Adam Pingleton. She is survived by three sons, Larry Rutledge and wife Donna of Union, John Rutledge of Winchester, KY and Tony Rutledge of Grubville; one daughter, Gina Pingleton and husband Mark of Robertsville; one brother, Arlis Messex of Richwoods; one sister, Catherine Crews of Gerald; seven grandchildren; great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
