Obituary

We are sad to announce the passing of Nancy L. Dixon. She was born on May 10, 1957, in Huntington Park, California.

She grew up on a farm near Marshfield MO. She went to college at The School of the Ozark's and received her bachelor's degree in K Thru 12th Education. Nancy also received her master's degree plus 30 in Education from Lindenwood University.

Nancy taught Art at Willow Brook Elementary in the Pattonville School District for 33 years. Teaching children how to draw, paint, and make projects was a joy to her. Nancy use to say, "I knew in the 3rd grade I wanted to be an Art Teacher when I grew up". She never wavered from that plan and retired with a whole lot of love and joy from students and staff alike.

She loved to travel around the world where she snorkeled at the Great Barrier Reef, swam with the dolphins and sea turtles. Nancy always enjoyed going on her summer vacations and bringing back pictures to share with her Art Students.

Nancy had a strong love for nature and animals of all kinds. She has been the proud owner of five different keeshond dogs and three different mixed bread dogs. Growing up on a farm is what nurtured her love of animals and nature. She always talked about how much she loved her families' cows, pigs, and chickens along with the stray animals her dad would bring home to her and her brother Ron Dixon. She loved laying in the grass looking up in the night sky seeing all those millions of stars swirling around up there. She knew there was a God, and He made all those wonderful things she enjoyed so much in her life.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father Leon Dixon, her mother and stepfather, Helen and Dennis Chapman; brother-in-law Michael Whitworth.

She is survived by her loving wife of sixteen years Jodi nee Whitworth Dixon; her dogs Meika & Angel Dixon; brother, Ronald Dixon; sister-in-law Chris Whitworth, nephew's Derek Dixon wife Brittney, and Tim Whitworth, niece's Gina Whitworth and Brian White, Amanda Whitworth. Great nephew's Elias and Maximus Dixon, Mavrick Woodard; Great niece Malia Woodard. Special family friends JoAnn Willis and pet Cooper, Jeremy Chappius, Jennifer Hammonds and girls, Corey and Trina Rice family.

She will be missed by many loving family members and friends.
