Mike McDonough, 82, of Eureka, MO passed away in the presence of his loving family on Thursday, April 18, 2024. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on November 3, 1941. He was the first son of Bernard McDonough and his wife Cecilia Jowdy McDonough.

He was united in marriage to Gail McBain in Centerville, Ohio, on July 11, 1964.  After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati, he was employed as a sales representative for the US Can Company for over 32 years.

Mike served on the board of Birthright for many years. He funded the education and care for many children in Cartagena, Columbia. He was also a faithful member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Soulard. Mike was a member of the Lakewood Hills Geezers Club. He enjoyed raising hostas, was a Reds and Cardinals baseball fan, was always up to playing board games, but most of all loved taking his grandkids on one of his many "Papa's Tractor Rides."

Mike's family will always enjoy remembering his favorites things which included: "same" (indicating a ham, cheese and mustard sandwich every day for lunch, for years), Reese's peanut butter cups, Yahtzee, salad for dessert, and ice cream every night!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Cecilia McDonough; two brothers: David McDonough and Tony McDonough; and one sister, Judith McDonough Lamberjack.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Gail McDonough of Eureka; four children: Thomas McDonough and his wife Sharon of Hawaii, Michelle Dedert and her husband Charles of Maryland Heights, Rachael Liebhart and her husband Eric of Catawissa, and Mary Schiller of Webster Groves; eight grandchildren: Katie Dedert, Kimberly McDonough, Brendan Liebhart and his wife Jackie Archer, Grace Liebhart, Joshua Liebhart, Zayne Smith, Abigail Smith, and Max Schiller; one brother, Dennis McDonough and wife Edie of Bath, IN; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Midlawn Funeral Home in Union, MO.

A Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 P.M. at Midlawn Funeral Home in Union, Missouri  (7280 State Highway 47, Union, MO 63084).
