Mary Josephine (Dement) Pogue of St. Clair, MO passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024 on her 87th birthday.  Mary, daughter of the late Arch E. Dement and his wife Eva L. (Miner), was born May 28, 1937 in Cobden, IL.  She received her education in Reynolds County, MO.  On November 5, 1955 she was united in marriage to Noah Richard Pogue, and the couple was blessed with two children. The family made their home in St. Louis, MO and Wyandotte, MI before finally settling in Gray Summit, MO.

Mary worked for one year at an insurance company before leaving to focus on raising her family.  In later years, she volunteered at the front desk of the St. Clair Senior Center.  She enjoyed shopping, traveling, crocheting, and most of all spending time with her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Richard Pogue; her parents, Arch and Eva Dement; one brother, Daniel Dement; and son-in-law, Mark Shephard.

She is survived by two children: Perry Pogue of Leasburg, and Ferny Shephard of Gray Summit; one grandson, Perry Pogue II; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials in honor of Mary Pogue can be made to a church of the donor's choice.
