Mary Beth Matthews (nee DeClue) of St. Clair, MO passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the age of 63 years.  Mary was born in Washington, MO on June 9, 1959; the daughter of David DeClue and his wife, Mary (nee Sohn).  Mary enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing, and drinking Fireball.  She was at her happiest when she was spending time with her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, David and Mary DeClue; her husband, Eddie Matthews; and one son, Joseph Matthews.

She is survived by three daughters: Tonya Matthews of Dexter, MO., Dawn Belanger and husband Terry of Houma, LA., and Jessica Ellison and husband Jason of St. Clair; six sisters: Cindy Stahlman and husband Randy of Sullivan, Patty Turner and significant other, Jim Belushi of Sullivan, Kathy Bell and husband Jed of Sullivan, Misty Smith and husband Malon of St. Clair, Stacey Skaggs and husband Mike of Ste. Genevieve; and Marya Cothern of Sullivan; six grandchildren: Hope Wallace, Haley Wallace, Ezra Belanger, Isaiah Belanger, Taylor Belanger, and Morgan Ellison; one great-grandson, David Allen Smith; and many other relatives and friends.
