Martin William Thiessen of Union, MO passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the age of 62 years.

Martin was born in St. Louis, MO; the son of Carl Thiessen and his wife, Martha (Doty).  He received his education from Southwest High School in St. Louis.  He was united in marriage to Terri (Lewis) on May 6, 1995 and the couple made their home in Union.   Martin was employed as a truck driver for Estes Express Lines in Fenton.  He enjoyed fishing and giving his loved ones some good-natured teasing. The time Martin cherished most was the time spent with his family, friends, and his beloved dog, Sadie.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Martha Thiessen.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Terri Thiessen of Union; two children: Julie Humphries and husband Dave, and Brian Schwentker, all of Union; three grandchildren: Matthew Humphries, Mason Humphries, and Ella Schwentker, all of Union; three brothers: Chuck Thiessen and wife Neva of St. Clair, John Thiessen of St. Louis, and Jim Thiessen and wife Samantha of Imperial; four sisters: Johanna Thiessen of St. Louis, Theresa Schweiger and husband Keith of Villa Ridge, Tina Vaccaro and husband John of Fenton, and Laurie Cummings of Washington; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials in honor of Martin Thiessen can be made to the Franklin County Humane Society or a pet shelter of donor's choice.
